Apple’s upcoming iPad Air and OLED iPad Pro models are rumored to have a front-facing camera positioned on the side of the device for better functionality in a landscape orientation. This new camera location is expected to address the off-center position of the current FaceTime camera when using the device horizontally. The recent 10th-generation iPad had already moved its front-facing camera to the side, enhancing its landscape mode usage. Rumors suggest that this design change might also be implemented in the upcoming iPad Pro models. A code discovered earlier hinted at a similar adjustment for the FaceTime camera in the next iPad Pro. Leaks on a Chinese social platform have hinted at the possibility of both the rumored 10.9 and 12.9-inch versions of the iPad Air adopting this new camera placement.
The method Apple has used to include a landscape FaceTime camera while accommodating the Apple Pencil’s charging port on the same side remains unknown. However, there are speculations that a new Apple Pencil could be released alongside the updated iPads, possibly resolving any conflicts concerning the camera’s new position. Fans can anticipate the official unveiling of these innovative iPads, which are expected to be launched soon, perhaps even this month.
