Google Maps has finally started rolling out glanceable directions on Android and iOS devices. This feature shows turn-by-turn directions and live ETA directly on the lock screen, which was only visible when the phone was unlocked before. Users can also view these directions on the route overview screen before starting navigation. Glanceable directions are not activated by default but can be enabled in the app settings under Navigation. This feature is still being gradually released, as indicated by it only appearing in the settings after switching Google accounts. Despite the promise of Live Activities support for iOS, it has not been implemented yet. Google had initially announced the glanceable directions feature in February last year and planned to release it in June on Android and iOS. The development of Live Activities support for iPhones continues, but the exact release date remains uncertain.
Google Mapsは、ロック画面からもターンバイターンの案内と到着予定時刻を確認できる「ひと目でわかる案内」機能をAndroidとiOS向けに展開し始めました。これにより、これまでロック解除しないと表示されなかった情報が閲覧可能です。案内画面が出る前の経路概要画面でも利用可能で、Google Mapsは案内や到着予定時刻を表示し、ユーザーが別の道を選んだ場合も経路を更新することができます。ただし、ひと目でわかる案内はデフォルトではオフになっており、ナビゲーションのメイン設定で有効にできます。iOSでは、機能がまだ展開途中ということで、設定が一部のアカウントで切り替えた後に表示されるという報告もあります。 Live Activitiesのサポートについては、今後の展開が注目されています。
